On May 20th - 26th 2007, the
city gates of Aalborg, Denmark, open up for the celebration of
carnival. And there is no doubt that the streets will be filled with all
sorts of people dressed up in both imaginable and unimaginable
costumes. The carnival in Aalborg is the largest carnival in
Northern Europe in terms of number of active participants. In
fact, participants amount to more than 25.000 party people. It is the
celebration of the people – and a vivid celebration of light and life.

Imagine waking up one
late spring morning, looking out the window and witness the
streets filled with images and sounds rarely found in the real
world. Smiling princesses wearing the finest of dresses and
pearls making curtsy to ancient cavemen dressed in fur, while flirting
with a group of handsome young Scotsmen in kilts. A troll
chasing after giggling little mermaids, their bodies covered in seashells only.
