Basically, every carnival group can participate in the Carnival in Aalborg. There are two different options for joining:

1. If you would like to participate in the Grand Parade - just join in! You do not need to register your group or sign up for being part of the parade. Just show up at one of the three starting points, which you fill find in the menu to the left under Carnival Maps-Grand Parade Routes.

You are always welcome to contact us if you have any questions or need further information!

2. If you would like to participate in the Battle of Carnival Bands (thereby also in the Grand Parade) and compete for the title "Best Carnival Group of the Year", please send an e-mail introducing your group, or enter your group by using the submit form here.

The e-mail should contain following information:
 

- Theme / Tradition / Style
Let us take part in your ideas, history and tradition. It can be a unique idea or a theme stemming from ancient carnival traditions.

- Pictures / links to galleries
Include recent pictures or even video clips so that we can get an impression of your group and its magnificent costumes.

- Organisation / size of your group
Introduce your organization and let us know about the size of your group.
 

The groups will be selected based on the wish to represent a diversity in carnival traditions. Each year, we proudly invite up to 20 carnival groups from all over the world to compete in the Battle of Carnival Bands.
