Carnival Show!
To enhance the diversity
of the many different carnivals arranged throughout the world,
Carnival in Aalborg has chosen to invite carnival groups from all
over the world to participate in the Battle of Carnival Bands. The
carefully selected groups form a parade through the centre of
Aalborg, and based on their performances, the groups are
individually judged by four independent parade-judges. The parade
proceeds to a nearby park, Kildeparken, where each group performs
their show on stage in front of four show-judges.
In Kildeparken, each group is given 8-10 minutes to perform
their show on stage in front of the audience and the show judges. The grand finale show, containing the top 5 groups from
Friday's contest, takes place in Kildeparken, Saturday, after the grand
parade.
After the Battle of Carnival Bands show in
Kildeparken, London based International Soca Artiste, S.W. Storm
entertains on stage with an amazing soca show containing R&B,
Indian, Bhangra, Turkish, Reggae and Rock.
Time and place: The parade starts at 6pm from C.W. Obels Plads in the centre of
Aalborg and proceeds to the nearby park, Kildeparken. The
show in Kildeparken starts around 7pm and is expected to continue until 11pm.
S.W Storm is expected on stage at 10pm.
